# Analytics

> A record's product-usage activity and tracked events over time.

## Overview

The **Analytics** block shows the open record's product-usage activity. The tracked usage events attributed to it, charted over time. On a Company or Contact page it answers "how are they actually using the product?" using the same usage events that power the [Usage](/blocks/embedded/usage/usage-stat) blocks.

## Use cases

* A **Company / Account** record: the engagement trend for a customer-success review.
* A **Contact**: whether a champion is active or going quiet.

## Configuration parameters

| Param      | Type     | Description                                                                       |
| ---------- | -------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `objectId` | `object` | The object the block is bound to. Set automatically when placed on a record page. |

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom           | Likely cause                                  | What to check                                                                        |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| No activity shown | No usage events are attributed to this record | Confirm usage events are tracked and linked to the record (product / customer role). |
| Numbers look low  | Events are attributed to a different record   | Check the usage module's record-matching (product vs customer role).                 |
