# Help in the Widget

> Let visitors search your website and open your most useful pages from the chat widget.

## Overview

Once you've scanned your website, the chat widget gets a **Help** tab beside **Chat**.
Visitors can search your site and open your most useful pages without starting a chat.
The widget still opens on the message box, so a visitor who wants to ask something can
start typing straight away.

## What visitors see

* **Popular articles**: up to five of your scanned pages, help and docs pages first.
* **Search**: visitors type a question and see the pages that answer it, each with the
passage that matched. It's the same lookup your AI agent uses to answer questions, so the
two never disagree about what your site says.
* **Ask us**: at the bottom of the tab, and whenever nothing matches. It goes back to the
chat with what the visitor searched for already in the message box, ready to send.

Every page opens in a new tab, so the chat stays where it was.

## Turning it on or off

The Help tab is on unless you turn it off, in **Settings → Chat Widget → Knowledge →
Help in the widget**. The same card lists the popular articles the widget will show.

The tab only appears once a scan has found pages. To add pages or refresh the list, scan
your website (or re-scan it) under **Scan a website** on the same tab.

The live preview in **Settings → Chat Widget → Settings** shows the Help tab too, and its
search finds the same pages a visitor would.

## Good to know

* Each visitor can run a limited number of searches a minute.
* Searches are matched against the pages you've scanned, never against your CRM or your
  conversations.
