# Static lists

> A hand-picked set of records you curate.

A **static list** is a set you build by hand, the simplest kind. A record stays in it until you remove it, and each record carries a **done** state so you can tick it off as you work through the list.

## When to pick a static list

* A hand-curated shortlist ("VIP accounts", "webinar follow-ups").
* A one-off worklist you'll clear ("people to call back this week").
* Anywhere the membership is a deliberate human choice, not a rule.

## Adding and removing

* **Search to add**: type in the list's search box and pick a record.
* **Bulk add**: select rows in any records table and choose **Add to list**.
* **Automatically**: a workflow's *add-to-collection* action.
* **Remove**: the trash icon on a row drops it from the list (the record itself is untouched).

## Marking done

Tick a record's checkbox to mark it worked. Done state is per-list. The same record can be done in one list and not another.
