# Whiteboard

> A free-form drawing canvas attached to a record.

## Overview

Whiteboard attaches a Custral whiteboard document to a record. Use it for visual planning, system diagrams on an architecture record, customer journey maps on an Account.

## Configuration

| Setting  | What it does                                                     |
| -------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Template | Optionally start each new whiteboard from a whiteboard template. |

## What it stores

One whiteboard per record. The drawing itself is loaded only when you open the record, so large canvases don't slow down lists.

## Filtering

Filter by whether a record has a whiteboard (**is empty** / **is not empty**). Filtering on the drawing's contents is not supported.

## Examples

A "Customer Journey" property on an Account record.
