# The Connector object

> An MCP server Stella can use tools from: a vetted catalog entry, or your workspace's own.

A **connector** is a remote [MCP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server that
Stella, your AI teammate, can use tools from. The catalog has vetted connectors
(Slack, GitHub, Linear, Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Apollo, Stripe). A workspace can also add its
own **custom connector** by URL.

The endpoints in this section **list** connectors and **add** or **remove**
custom ones. Connecting happens in the app, in
[Settings → Connectors](/ai/mcp-connections). OAuth needs a person in a browser,
and an API key should not carry another service's credential.

<ResponseExample>
  ```json The Connector object theme={null}
  {
    "id": "c-linear-3f2a",
    "name": "Linear",
    "description": "Issues and projects",
    "custom": true,
    "authType": "oauth",
    "connectionScope": "user",
    "connected": true,
    "status": "active",
    "enabled": true,
    "allowWrites": false
  }
  ```
