# Zoom

> Attach a Zoom link to meetings booked through Custral.

## What it does

Zoom becomes a **meeting provider**: when a meeting is booked through a
[scheduling page](/comms/scheduling/overview), or created from the Custral
[calendar](/comms/calendar/overview). Custral generates a Zoom link and puts
it on the event, so invitees get a working join link without anyone pasting one.

## Connect

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect the calendar it belongs to">
    You'll need a Zoom account that's allowed to create meetings. No prior calendar connection is required, though Custral needs a calendar to put the event on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize">
    Go to **Settings → Integrations**, choose **Zoom**, and complete the
    provider's consent screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set it as your meeting provider">
    In your calendar settings, pick Zoom as the conferencing provider for the
    calendars that should use it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Resources synced

| Resource     | Custral surface                           |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------- |
| Meeting link | The conferencing link on a calendar event |
| Join details | Included in the invite Custral sends |

## Limitations

* Custral **creates** meeting links; it doesn't pull attendance, recordings, or
  chat transcripts back from Zoom. For recording and transcription of calls,
  see [Recording](/comms/voice/recording).
* The provider applies per calendar, not per booking page, a booking page
  inherits whatever its calendar is set to.
* Changing the provider affects **new** events only. Existing events keep the
  link they were created with.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Events are created with no meeting link | Zoom isn't set as the calendar's conferencing provider | Re-check the calendar's settings, not just the integration connection |
| "Insufficient permissions" when booking | The consent screen was completed without the meeting scope | Disconnect and reconnect, accepting every requested permission |
| Links generate for one calendar but not another | The provider is set per calendar | Set it on each calendar you book from |

## Disconnect

Disconnect from **Settings → Integrations**. Events that already exist keep
their links, Custral stops generating new ones, and booking pages fall
back to the calendar's default.
