What you’ll do
Build a chart on your live data and add it to a dashboard. By the end you’ll have a report you can filter and click straight into the records behind it.New to Custral? Do this in a sandbox first. A throwaway workspace where nothing is real.
Before you start
- A dashboard to add the report to, the workspace Home is one, or create a new dashboard page.
- At least one Object with some records to report on (Deals, Contacts, Tickets…).
Steps

Open a dashboard in edit mode
Go to a dashboard (or Home), enter edit mode, and add a block.

Pick a chart type
Choose a report from the block picker. Bar is a good default for comparing a value across categories.

Choose source, group, and measure
Point it at an Object (e.g. Deals), a group-by dimension (e.g. Stage), and a measure (e.g. count of records, or sum of a numeric property like deal value).

Add filters (optional)
Scope the report to what matters, e.g. open deals only. With a per-block filter.

Save and drill in
Save the block. Click a bar to open the records behind it in a table.
Try it out
Change the group-by from Stage to Owner and watch the chart reshape. Same records, a different question answered. Then click a segment to see exactly which records it represents.Next steps
