Objects

Objects are the foundation of data in Custral. They define how information is structured, connected, and displayed across your workspace. Every process in Custral (from sales to onboarding, support, and success) is powered by Objects. Each Object represents a distinct type of entity in your business. For example, you might have Objects like Companies, Contacts, Deals, or Tickets. Each entity contains multiple Records, which hold the actual data, such as “Acme Corp” or “Renewal - Q4”.

Overview

Objects define what kind of data you track and how that data connects to other parts of your business. Every Object includes:
  • Properties that describe the fields of data stored on each Record
  • Records that represent individual instances of that Object
  • Views the visual representation of a record
When creating a new Object you can start from a preset, a curated starter kit (such as Customer or Project Tracker) that seeds the Object with sensible default properties and views, or start blank. Some Objects (like Tasks) are system Objects that Custral provisions for you and that can’t be deleted or renamed.

Object structure

Each Object in Custral is built from three main layers: Properties, Records, and Associations.

1. Properties

Properties define the shape of your Object. They are the fields that describe what information is stored for each Record. Each Object can include any number of Properties, and each Property has a defined type. A Company Object might define properties like Name, Industry, Renewal Date, ARR, and Owner. Every Company Record then carries a value for each of those properties:
