Overview

Notes attaches a rich-text document to a record, or stands alone as a page note. Multiple teammates can edit the same note at once, with changes appearing live for everyone.

Account notes on a Company record. Call prep notes on a Deal. Internal comments on a Ticket.

Record vs standalone mode

  • Record mode: the note is attached to a Notes property, so each record of that object keeps its own note.
  • Standalone mode: no property is chosen, so the note belongs to the page itself rather than any single record.

AI writing assistant

The editor can draft and rewrite text using your workspace’s own AI provider (the same model selection and usage limits as the rest of Custral, not a third-party cloud).
  • Write for me: type / and choose Ask AI to write…. With nothing selected, the assistant drafts a continuation from the surrounding document.
  • Improve a selection: select text and open the AI menu in the floating toolbar for Improve writing, Proofread, Explain, Reformat, or a free-form instruction.
Generated text streams into a preview card where you can Replace the selection, Insert it below, Copy it, Try again, or Discard. Nothing is written to the document until you choose.

Formatting toolbar

Select any text to reveal a floating toolbar: turn-into (headings, lists, quote), bold / italic / underline / strike / code, link, text & highlight color, alignment, and the AI menu. Controls that don’t apply to the current selection hide automatically.

Version history

There’s no save button. Edits save automatically as you type, and the editor captures version snapshots on its own while you work. Open the clock icon in the editor header to browse version history: preview any past version read-only and Restore it (restoring overwrites the live document).

Comments

Select text and click the comment icon in the floating toolbar to start a thread anchored to that text (highlighted in yellow). The Comments button in the header opens the side panel to reply, resolve, or delete threads. Resolved threads clear their highlight.
