Overview

A Notes property gives a record its own rich-text document, meeting notes on a deal, an account plan on a company, research on a contact. It’s the same editor as a full document page, with formatting, lists, and images, and it’s collaborative: two people can write in it at once. Pick it from Communication in the property type list.

What it stores

A reference to a document. The prose lives in the document, not in the record’s field, which is what lets it be edited collaboratively and hold rich content.
Because the body is a separate document, a Notes value doesn’t behave like text in a filter or an export the way Long Text does. If you want paragraph text that filters, exports, and reads as an ordinary field, use Long Text instead.
