New to Custral? Everything below happens automatically on your first sign-in. There’s nothing to set up.
What happens on your first run
Custral doesn’t drop you into an empty screen. Your first visit plays a short, cinematic onboarding ceremony and lands you in a fully-seeded sandbox, a safe copy of a real workspace, pre-loaded with sample records and conversations, so you can explore before committing anything. The ceremony has four beats:- Hi <name>, a personalized welcome.
- Pick a setup. Choose the starting point that matches your team (Sales CRM, Support Desk, and so on). Each seeds different objects and sample data.
- Building. Custral creates your sandbox and seeds it.
- Welcome to Custral. A brief reveal, then you’re in.
Your first stop: the interface tour
The very first time you enter any workspace, Custral runs a short Take a tour of the interface walkthrough. Just once. You click through the sidebar’s tabs (Home, Assistant, Conversations, Tasks, Search) and each one expands to explain the panel it opens (Home covers your Modules and Pages). It finishes on the logo (your home button), the workspace switcher and the account menu, which are two different things (one switches organizations, the other is your personal profile, settings and log out), and the dock. While the tour is up, only the tour is clickable; you can Exit it any time from the coach card, and replay it later from the Get started board.Guided Paths
Below the tour, the home screen shows a Get started board, a set of guided paths you choose from. You pick the one that matches what you’re here to do, and it walks you through the real thing.- Pick a path. Each card is a goal, Build your pipeline, Set up your inbox, Let AI build a dashboard, Automate with workflows, Run a sequence, Organize with collections, Create pages & views, Set permissions, and so on. Two show by default; Show more reveals the rest.
- Paths spotlight a real control and dim everything else (the highlighted control stays clickable), and advance on your action, not a timer. Some jump to the right screen first, then point at the button.
- The paths shown are tailored to your setup and your role: you only see paths your workspace can do (a support sandbox offers the chat path, a sales sandbox the inbox path) and that your access allows, Set permissions only shows for admins, and the workflow/sequence/collection/pages paths only for people who can create content.
- Finished paths show a Done check; you can replay any of them (including the interface tour).
- You can Dismiss the board anytime. Reopen it from the account menu’s Guided tours, or the command palette (⌘K → Getting started).
Going live
The sandbox is a test environment, the amber banner at the top says so. When you’re happy with your setup, click Go live → in that banner. Going live creates a brand-new real workspace from your sandbox’s setup: your objects, properties, and views all carry over, while the sample data stays behind in the sandbox (it’s for testing, so it’s never brought across). A short “Setting up your workspace” ceremony runs, then drops you into your new live workspace. Your sandbox stays intact. You can keep using it or delete it later.Troubleshooting
The Get started board isn't on my home screen
The Get started board isn't on my home screen
Nothing auto-launches. The board just sits at the top of home. If you
Dismissed it, reopen it from the account menu → Guided tours, or the
command palette (⌘K → Getting started). Dismissing only hides the board;
it never deletes your progress.
I'm only seeing a few paths
I'm only seeing a few paths
The paths are composed from your workspace’s capabilities, which come
from the setup you picked. A setup with no email channel hides the inbox
path, and so on. That’s expected. If you expected an email / chat / reports
path, pick a setup that includes it (or seed a new sandbox from a different
template). Use Show more to reveal the paths hidden behind the first two.

If a step’s target isn’t on the current screen, the coach recenters instead
of pointing at a missing control, just click Skip to move on. A step
never blocks you.
'Go live' failed or seems stuck
'Go live' failed or seems stuck
Going live provisions a whole workspace, which can take up to a minute, the
ceremony’s progress bar keeps moving while it runs. If it errors, nothing is
lost: your sandbox is untouched, and you can click Go live → again. If it
keeps failing, contact Support with the error id
from the toast.
I ended up with extra sandboxes / workspaces

Each go-live creates a new real workspace, and each
/onboarding?ceremony=1
run creates a new sandbox. That’s by design. Remove any you don’t want from
Workspace → Sandboxes (sandboxes) or the workspace switcher (real orgs).Related
