1
Build the target list
Open Contacts → filter to “Lifecycle = Lead” + “Country = US” + “Owner = me”. Save the View as “Q2 Outbound List”.
2
Connect the channels
Settings → Channels. Connect a Nylas mailbox if you haven’t, and provision a Twilio number for SMS. See Email overview and SMS overview.
3
Compose the templates
Create email template “Outbound Day 1” and SMS template “Outbound Follow-up Day 4”. Use property tokens (
{{first_name}}, {{company}}) so each send personalizes.4
Build the sequence
Automations → Sequences → New sequence. Steps:
- Day 1, 9am. Send Email “Outbound Day 1”.
- Day 4, 11am. Send SMS “Outbound Follow-up Day 4” if no email reply.
- Day 7. Create Task “Manual call” assigned to the owner. Add Office Hours to the sequence so steps don’t fire at 3am in the recipient’s timezone.
5
Enroll the list
Open the saved View “Q2 Outbound List” → bulk select → Enroll in sequence. Pick the sequence you just built. Records start moving through the steps tomorrow at 9am.
6
Watch the report
Open the Sequence → Reports. You’ll see send rate, open rate (for email), and reply rate per step. Pause the sequence if reply rate drops below your threshold.
The sequence is live. Iterate the messaging based on what the report tells you.
