Overview

When your AI agent answers a question, the chat widget shows two buttons under the answer:
  • That answered it tells you the visitor got what they needed.
  • Talk to a person hands the chat to your team.
The buttons sit under the newest answer only. They go away as soon as the visitor types again, a teammate replies, or the chat is handed off.

That answered it

Tapping it sends “That answered it” as the visitor’s message. The assistant thanks them and says they can ask anything else. In your inbox, that message shows Marked resolved beside the visitor’s name. Nothing else changes. The conversation is not closed, nobody is assigned, and a later question is answered in the same chat. The button only appears under an answer the visitor can be finished with. An answer that ends in a question (“How many people will use it?”) or offers to bring in a person has no buttons, because the visitor has something to reply to. If a teammate has already taken the chat, the assistant stays quiet. The visitor’s tap still shows Marked resolved in your inbox.

Talk to a person

The button works like the one under your greeting: it hands the chat to your team, and the widget says when they reply. See Office hours and email follow-up.

Settings

Settings → Chat Widget → AI Agent → Ask if an answer helped controls That answered it. It is on unless you turn it off, and it needs Answer with AI before a human replies to be on. The Talk to a person button follows Offer “Talk to a person” under Settings → Chat Widget → Prompts → Suggested questions. See Suggested questions and page prompts. The live preview shows both buttons under a sample answer, and the thank-you when you tap That answered it.
